Pricing factors :
Drywall repair prices are dependent on several factors like location , damage of the drywall (water damage / mould), location of the drywall damage (inside the closet may not be visible much compared to well lit area), weather customer wants to match paint, property value, customer type (realtor, home owner etc).
Drywall repair materials are not pricy and also it does not matter weather it is fist size or one foot by one foot. Preparation and time taken to do the steps are same. If the patch is door knob damage or very small one there is exception, because that can be patched directly with hot mud and skim coat without putting much effort.
To provide you a guide I would like to categorize common drywall patching scenarios based size, location and nature of damage into following three categories.
Patches from fist size to one foot by one foot size – 200 to 300 CAD
Usually plumbers / electricians and other trade people open drywalls for fix inside the walls.
These openings are common and same time / preparation efforts are required for whether fist size or one foot by one foot.
Prices are vary between 200 CAD to 300 CAD for patching and sanding, surface will be ready for painting once final coat is applied and sanded. Primer coat will be applied after sanding. Depending on the situation patches can be done same day or it will need two days minimum to properly harden all purpose drywall mud.
If client wants to paint the wall after sanding with color matched paint it will be 100 for painting patched area plus paint cost. Usually paint cost will be around 40 to 50 CAD for one quart (minimum quantity that we can get from Benjamin moore). Painting will be done around the patched area to blend with existing color. If you want to paint whole wall or area price will be vary.
As summary, for small size drywall opening around one foot by one foot, it will be cost :
200 (patching + sanding ) + 150 (painting with color matched paint) = 350 CAD.

Larger drywall openings more than 1 ft x 1 ft to 2 ft x ft – 200 to 400 CAD
Larger drywall openings / damages repair costs are vary depending on the situation. As a ball parked value this will be between 200 CAD to 400 CAD only for patching and sanding – Finishing with paint ready surface with primer coat.
If you want to get painted it will be around another 200 ( This will include getting color matched paint and do the painting).
We use only top quality benjamin moore paint products only for color matching.
Ceiling Drywall repairs with texture spray (Popcorn drywall repairs) – 300 to 500 CAD
It is very common that most of the homes in Canada having textured ceilings and most of the time due to water damages or openings done by plumbers / electricians or other service technicians, these openings need to be closed.
Texture spray requires some time to cure the drywall patch and need to apply proper primer to makesure texture is poprely bonded into newly patched drywall.
Also texture spraying need proper covering of all furniture or whatever items in the room. Always need to cover the floor because these spray particles will go everywhere and if we don’t have proper covering it will be take more time to clean.
For textured drywall patching projects, prices vary from 300 to 500 CAD. if there are more patches prices will be not the same.
Usually after parching these textured ceiling newly patching area will be noticeable because it is new. We are advising our clients to do popcorn ceiling painting after properly drying out the ceiling. Painting services will be extra charge depending on the area need to be painted. Usually it will cost around 200 CAD to paint average size room ceiling with popcorn including Primer paint.

If you want to get done painting we follow the below steps:
Step One (Taking the sample) :
We will cut small rectangular piece of from your wall and take that to the paint shop for get color matched paint. If you want to paint different locations it is always good to take different samples. Sometimes even it seems like same color after painting, we can see more difference that the original color. Always it it better to take a sample of the wall which is having the patched area.
Step two (Getting color matched paint) :
Usually the second day / or the same day depending on the service we will get the color matched paint from the store and start painting. We will let you know the paint price and price for the painting before we start the process.
Step Three (Prime and paint)
We always prime the patched area before painting to avoid stains / flashing walls. Primer always gives adhesion and good color after painting.
